They Make Me Smile

We love our kids and love the cute moments where they bring a smile to our faces. Here a few recently:

Tom came home from school about when Declan woke up from his 3rd nap. Tom went and got him and then sat down to tell me about his day. Declan just HAD to look at his dad and twisted around to stare up at Tom while he talked to me. It was too cute. He just stared and stared and stared at Tom. That boy sure does love his dad.

I pulled out the busy ball popper for Declan to play with. When I turned it on, he got sooooooo excited and did his normal thing - stiffened up, started shaking and rolling his ankles.

After the initial excitement, he then lunged in to attack. Well, when he pulled the toy towards him, it shot the balls out at his face where they bounced off and rolled all over the room. His eyes were blinking furiously as the balls came at him. Then after the balls finished bouncing off his face, he got a blast of the air that had shot them at him. He then sucked in as the air made it difficult for him to breathe. It was sooooo funny to watch. Of course all of that happened in a matter of seconds, but it was too cute.

One day in the car I was sitting next to Declan and started playing around with him. I playfully grabbed his face and shook it a little, he then closed his eyes and made this silly face. I started laughing, so the next time I grabbed his face again, he did it again. He know loves to do this to make me laugh. Sometimes he'll flail his arms and squawk as he's doing it, but everytime it cracks me up. Such a silly boy!

Taylor and Payden were watching some cartoons one morning and decided that their dinosaurs were gonna come and nap beside them. If you can't tell, under every little blanket is a dinosaur. They laid the dinosaurs out and then neatly tucked them in. I just love how it's not their dolls that they do this to, but their dinosaurs. They are definitely dinosaur lovers!!

Tom and I were talking in another room. I heard Declan fussing, but it stopped and was replaced with TONS of giggles as I came to check on him. This is what I found. Shelby had gone to him to help him out decided to play peek-a-boo with him. Now I've played this with him before, which is where she got the idea to do it, but as usual there's always a special love between siblings. When she played him, he just giggled and giggled and LOVED it. It was sweet to watch.

The other day, Taylor and Shelby spilled on their shirts. We were needed to go run an errand, so we had them go grab a new shirt. Now in the mornings, I just pick out their clothes for them as the play in the tub. I think I;ll have to start working with them on picking out their own clothes. Anyways, here are the shirts they picked. Tom and I just laughed when we saw them.

Yeah, this shirt is supposed to be worn with an undershirt underneath . . . I guess she forgot that part.

Anyways, I love these little moments. They are the joys of being a parent.
