Well she's off her meds, her stinky after-surgery breath is gone, she seems back to normal . . . except her sleep. She wakes up each night screaming, like she does when she doesn't get a nap and she needed it. The only problem is she naps every day. Our only guess is that she's still not 100% recovered, but it's hard dealing with a 4-almost-5 year old who is screaming and won't calm down or respond to anything you do. We've at least gotten her to stay in her bed now. For awhile she'd come in our room multiple times throughout the night, but that's at least stopped. It feels so strange because I feel like I need to sleep train her again . . . but she's 4 . . . not a baby. Hopefully she'll start sleeping well soon. We have noticed a decrease in her hyperness, which is good.
In this picture, she hadn't had a nap and by 2 was CRANKY. Just having a hard time. Tom got tired of it and told her to go to her room and go to sleep. So she did. She woke up crying, but still seemed super tired, so I told her to lay down on the couch and go back to sleep. She seemed to wake up every hour until 5 when she was FINALLY ready to wake up. I was so worried she wouldn't go to bed at nighttime, but she went to bed just fine. Poor thing. This surgery was really hard on her. Most kids bounce back okay, but she just seems to have a harder time with pain and recovering from things.
SHELBY
I took this picture because I wanted proof for Shelby that she really does like to play. Most days she reads and reads and reads. She hardly goes into the playroom, especially on school days. If she does play, it's because her sisters have brought something into the family room that interests her, but generally even when they're playing in the family room she likes to read. For some reason this day she got up from reading and went in the playroom and played.
I was so proud of her (we encourage her CONSTANTLY to stop reading for a bit and play). I think Payden ended up joining her and they had a fun time building. Way to go Shelby!!
Now usually this is what she does . . .
Why she's wearing sunglasses . . . who knows. I told her it'd be easier to read without them on, but she wanted them on. Funny!
PAYDEN
This girl lately thinks she's the queen of the world. She is constantly bossing everyone, refusing to do what she's asked, and getting into trouble. She's definitely 2. I just feel bad for her because she gets so sad when she gets in trouble. Hopefully she'll get the idea, soon, that Mom and Dad can take care of the bossing and disciplining and that she can just relax and be a kid and that obeying Mom and Dad won't kill her and will actually make her life more pleasant.

Oh I just want to reach through the screen and pinch your cute little girls' cheeks! They're growing up so fast!!
Poor Taylor, I hope she starts feeling better soon!
First, your girls just keep getting cuter. All grown up though:( LOVE the picture of Payden. And also of Declan chewing on the shirt. That's so funny. What a boy huh?
I hope Taylor does better soon. That's gotta be rough on everyone! I don't envy your situation with that one!!
We miss you guys. I hope it works out for us to see you in June. It will be nice to actually talk instead of type:) AND Josh will be thrilled to play with Shelby!
