ICE CREAM
About mid-January, San Antonio started getting a lovely little allergen called Mountain Cedar. It is awful and just kills me. I have difficult breathing, and the few meds I can take as a nursing mother just don't work at all. Because of this, I have a really hard time falling asleep at night. Either it takes forever for my nose to clear up so that I can fall asleep breathing out of my nose or I have to wait until I am completely exhausted before I can succomb to sleep while breathing out of my mouth. Generally I finally get to sleep around 1 in the morning, but with Taylor recovering from surgery and having a baby in the house, I end up waking numerous times after that to deal with children. By the time 7:00 hits, I'm not well rested, but have to start the day in order to get Shelby to school on time.
In order to not be a grumpy mom all day long, I take a nap when Declan takes his morning nap around 9. Because I have 2 strong-willed and sometimes troublemaker little girls, I let them watch TV while I nap to prevent a complete disaster. Well Taylor has come to make wise use of this time. Now we generally don't have ice cream in our house because it doesn't get eaten, but because of her tonsillectomy we have ice cream. She waits until I am asleep and then goes and gets the ice cream out of the freezer. Well of course Payden would like some too, but they don't always do a good job of sharing. Today I woke up to Payden screaming, "I want some." This kept happening so finally I told the girls that I was going to get rid of all the ice cream in the house because (1) they hadn't asked if they could have some, (2) they were fighting over it and not sharing well, and (3) they were disrupting my nap. They finally stopped arguing, so I quickly fell back asleep to finish the rest of my nap. When I woke up a little bit later, I looked over on the couch and saw 3 ice cream containers on the couch. I asked Taylor what was going on, and she replied, "We ate the ice cream all gone because you were going to throw it away."

DOGS
As we're getting in the car, Taylor whines, "I want a dog." I gave the good-old Mom answer of "We'll see." She obviously didn't like that and responded, "I want a dog." Then she continued, "Madison and Ryan (their cousins) have Rock Band and a dog, so I want to have Rock Band and a dog." Oh, how I love the reasoning of little kids.
LITTER
In our backyard, we have this lovely pile of rocks. A tree had obviously been there before, but cut down. Of course the kids are drawn to the pile of rocks when they go outside. Our rule is pretty simple - you can play with the rocks as long as you keep them in the area where they belong.
Well I looked out into the backyard this morning and found this rocks scattered all over the patio.Knowing who the 2 culprits were (about 95% of the time they are the culprits), I asked Taylor why there were rocks all over the porch. She replied, "We were cleaning up litter on the beach." It was hard to get mad at her for that. They've watched a Dora the Explorer show where there is all this litter on the beach that Dora goes around and cleans up. Well I hope they really were excited to be like Dora and pick up because that is definitely what they'll get to do.

I love the ice cream incident! That is so, so funny!
I honestly just busted a gut about that ice cream situation!!! That is the funniest story I have ever heard about a kid! How did they not puke afterwards???
And very, very cute about the rocks. I need to be more layed back about stuff like that and let the kids be kids. I get so upset that ANOTHER mess has been made that I over look the cuteness of it
