Waiting Time

My mom arrived Sunday August 3, and the baby was due August 4. We ended up waiting and waiting and waiting for him to come, so what did we do . . .

We played computer . . . nickjr.com, playhousedisney.com, and pbskids.org (or pbskids.ord as Taylor calls it).

We read books. With a big sister who is ALWAYS reading, Payden and Taylor both like to read just like Shelby. It's funny because at times I swear they've forgotten that they can just ask me to read to them, but I think a lot of is it the power of wanting to be like their big sister.

We made cookies.

I think we went through at least 2 batches of cookies before he arrived.

We ate those cookies . . . yummy . . . and played around. For some reason, the girls LOVE getting in my empty laundry basket. On this day, Payden got under and would sit there and yell, "Help. Help. I stuck." You'd go to take it off of her to help her get unstuck, all in play of course, and she'd freak out like you were trying to steal it from her. Taylor and I both tried to get her unstuck, but after getting yelled, we stopped. We weren't exactly sure what she wanted us to do, but she did have a lot of fun playing under there. I swear she wore that hamper for at least an hour.

We ate breakfast (and lunch and dinner too).

We put together a puzzle. I grew up doing puzzles and LOVE to do them. Fortunately, my girls love it too. Especially Payden. The next day after doing this puzzle together, Payden brought it to me because she wanted to do it, so I ended up having to help her do it. I'd have to place the piece in the almost the exact spot and then she'd push it in. It's a good thing that I'm fast at doing puzzles because I'd have to find the next piece in the second or two it'd take for her to snap the piece in. We did the whole thing that way, and she was so excited about finishing the puzzle.

We watched TV.

Lots of it.

We also cleaned up the house (mostly my mom . . . THANKS), but I'm glad we were able to find a few things to do to pass the time because it was a long week of waiting.
