Afternoon Outside

After making the Haunted House, we headed outside for a bit. Of course early evening's the only time we can go outside and have bearable weather (no, it does NOT feel like October yet). The girls all headed over to slide first.

After a few slides, Shelby decided she wanted to go hit some balls.

She did pretty good and started to figure out that where she was looking when she went to hit the ball determined which way the ball would go.

Once you hit the ball, you look in the direction of the ball to see where it's going. Little punk!!! I snapped the picture and quickly moved the camera down to find the ball, but I was too late. Fortunately it only hit my leg a little bit. I got after her for hitting the ball at me. She tried to claim that she couldn't aim the ball . . . which is true, but she definitely can get it to go in a general direction!!

I like this picture, but can't tell if she's being sweet or sneaky.

Taylor really enjoyed waiting out in the yard to catch the balls for Shelby.

For most of the time, Taylor was at the back of the fence waiting to chase after Shelby's balls. She certainly did a lot of chasing as Shelby is a random hitter - good hits, short hits, and hits in every direction.

Being Taylor, she can't sit in the same position for long and is always finding things to do. She would go from catching to sliding to playing with the rocks.

At one point she found this bucket and went around the yard with it on her head. She does like to be goofy (especially if I'm taking pictures). This is a classic Taylor picture . . . tongue out . . . goofy face.

For most of the evening, she was crawling around the yard like a dog. They say that's a phase that most kids go through, but I swear she's been pretending to be a dog for a LONG time.

As for Payden, she generally stayed on the slide, but at one point decided to go play with the rocks. Of course, she had to put the rocks in her mouth. She loves to test things especially if she thinks she's not supposed to.

Payden LOVES going up slides backwards. Hard to believe that she was initially deadly afraid of slides. She loves them now and sneaks outside as often as possible to go down the slide and play outside.

A helicopter flew over us while we were out there, so she watched it fly across the sky. She's not too sure whether she likes them or not, which explains the solemn face.

Once it had passed she quickly resumed sliding up and down the slide. What a cute belly!!!

It was a fun evening outside. I love watching them play and have fun with each other. It makes all the craziness that comes with having kids close together . . . worth it.

What cute pictures of all your girls. They are all looking so much older! Fun, but so sad, isn't it??
