Fourth Week of Swimming Lessons

Another week of lessons. They went well. Shelby says she never really does much (which I'm sure is not true), but here's a few pictures of what she did do.

As for Taylor, we worked on blowing bubbles underwater, but not just with their mouths underwaer, but their entire faces under the water. I'll ask her if I can dunk her under, and she'll tell me yest. Once I go to push her head down though, she starts pushing upwards. She just won't go underneath by herself. Here's where she finally let me dunk her under.

We also worked on floating today. She did an AWESOME job at floating. Most of the other kids weren't comfortable at all. They kept their heads up and wouldn't lay flat. Taylor loves laying down in the water and does it all the time in the bathtub, so she had no problem. She did so well the coach had her work on pointing her arms and kicking her legs, too.

Taylor has a really huge tummy, which we call her Buddha. While she was floating, I told her she needed to stick her tummy up, and this is what we got . . .

Oh, what a tummy. After we finished floating, the coach decided to do the Airplane with the kids. So here are all 6 of them hanging on to her. Taylor's the one on her back.

After the airplane, coach put them back on the wall. I was about 10 feet away from Taylor. She's not too sure about the other kids and prefers not to be too close to them. She decided that she would rather let go of the wall to try and get to me then be close to the other kids. So she just let go of the wall. She doesn't know how to swim yet. Fortunately the coach saw her right away and put her back on the wall. Crazy girl.

When we got home, the girls took a bath. I had Taylor work on putting her face under the water to blow bubbles. I got Shelby to show her how to do it. Payden even got down to blow bubbles. Finally, an idea came to me. I asked Taylor if she wanted to blow bubbles like a baby . . . like Payden or did she want to blow bubbles like a big girl . . . like Shelby. That did it. She then started dipping her eyes, nose, and mouth in the water to blow bubbles. So now Taylor blows bubbles like a Big Girl. Hopefully, I'll remember to have her keep working on it all week long, and, hopefully, when we go to swimming lesssons on Saturday, Taylor will still be blowing bubbles like a big girl!!!

I love the picture of Taylors tummy. That is awsome that you are taking the girls to swim lessons. THey will always remember the time they got the swim with you as well as know how to swim.
