Declan's had a good day. He took a REALLY good and really long morning nap . . . 2 1/2 hours. It's the first time he's seemed to be trying to get his sleep organized. After his first nap and some nursing, he was in a good mood. I was holding him and talking to him in my baby voice. "Where's your smile, buddy?" "Where'd your smile go?" and so forth. Well, he actually smiled. He wasn't gassy. He wasn't smiling in his sleep. He was looking at me and smiling.

I quickly grabbed the camera to try to photograph it. Unfortunately, our camera shoots an orange light in the center of where you're aiming, which was Declan's face. He stopped looking at me and started looking at the camera. I tried really hard to get him to look at me, and finally it worked. I got him to look at me and smile, and I snapped the picture at the perfect moment. Yea!!!

So cute!!!!

We have pictures of the kids smiling at 1 month too and we ALWAYS got the comment, "oh he/she must have had gas in that picture." What? NO! They CAN smile at this age. As proof in your adorable perfect pictures!!
