Well 2 weeks ago, Shelby started 1st grade. I meant to take a picture of her, but it just didn't happen. Tom wasn't able to drop her off with us, and with a new baby and 2 other kids, I ended up just dropping her off like I do any other day. There was about one other car in the dropoff lane because everyone else was parking and walking their kids in. As she got out, I started feeling bad, but I was without Tom, in my pjs, and with 3 other kids. I knew she knew where to go because we had gone to the Meet the Teacher the Friday before, and her new classroom was just around the corner from her class last year. So off she went with no problem. It's amazing how much easier it was to drop her off this year compared to last year. She's not so little any more, and she knew what she was doing.
Her teacher this year is Ms. Robinett, who happens to be the mom of one of her friends from GT. Last year her kindergarten teacher told me which teachers she thought would be best for Shelby and told me to request them, which I had no idea you can do. I'm so glad she told me because her teacher knew Shelby and knew the 1st grade teachers and really was in the position to know what would be best for Shelby. Well, Shelby got one of the teachers we requested. What surprised me was that she only knew about 3 kids from last year; everyone else in her class is someone new. Anyways, we're so excited for the year and for our big 1st grader!

Congrats on starting 1st Grade Shelby!! I had no idea you could request teachers like that either! I'm sure she'll have a great year.
Oh, Josh by the way, has informed me that he will be flying to TX in November to celebrate Shelby turning 7. I didn't know this, and I have no idea how he's getting there, but he thinks he's going:) (he still talks a lot about Shelby obviously)
