Weekend with Nana and Papa

Well my parents decided to come for a visit this weekend. Their county holds a fair each year, and, being in a small community, they get the Friday off for Fair Day. Gotta love it. After getting a late start, they made it to our house about 5:30 that afternoon. My mom asked if we wanted to go on a date (with Declan of course) while she and my dad stayed home and had Movie Night with the girls. Of course, we immediately said, "Yes!" Right after they got to our house, my parents and the girls sat down to eat while Tom, Declan, and I headed out to dinner and a movie. When we got to the restaurant, Tom and I got out of the car. I heard the car lock and I looked over to Tom . . . apparently he had forgotten we had a kid in the backseat. Haha! It was funny. Declan is pretty calm especially compared to our other kiddos, so I can completely understand Tom's memory lapse.

The next day we had a relaxing morning. I had bought this pumpkin craft from Walmart, so my dad sat down with the girls to make jack-o-lanterns. They had a lot of fun, and it actually went really smoothly. My dad said that it had been just a little crazier than he wanted it to go, but I told him he had done awesome! In fact, I had imagined a much worse scenario than what actually happened. The girls had tons of fun decorating their pumpkins. Poor Payden just has to be big too, but had difficulty peeling the backs of the foam and had to be helped when decorating with the glitter glue.

After naps and feeding Declan, we headed off to Old Navy for a sale they were having. My mom and dad wanted to go to Barnes and Noble and the girls wanted to go with them, so Tom and I ended up shopping at Old Navy with only Declan. It sure is amazing at how quickly we were able to shop without the girls. I love them, but boy do things go a bit longer when they're involved. It was nice just being Tom and I (Declan didn't really count because he slept the whole time).

After a bit, my parents came back with the kids. We immediately finished up (and I mean immediately) and headed off to go eat at Salsalito's. We almost always eat there when my parents are in town. It's good food and easy to get in there quickly no matter how large of a party you have.

After dinner, it was time for my parents to go back home. We said our goodbyes and off they went. Now Papa is on Payden's list of males that she loves, so everytime he's around and she can't see him, she asks, "Where Papa go?" This was no exception. Even though we'd said goodbye and explained that they were going, as soon as she got buckled in her carseat, she asked, "Where Papa go?" In fact, we had to answer that question over and over again all the way home. She is too cute and definitely loves her papa.

That evening we got to read the new Halloween books that my parents got the girls. Thanks for the books!!! We had a good weekend and were glad to be able to see Nana and Papa. Thanks for coming, Mom and Dad!!! We love y'all!!
