Helping Out Declan

Declan will be sleeping, and you'll start to hear him make grunting and groaning noises (which is what he does at night, so I wake up to him grunting and groaning . . . not crying). I've learned it means he's working on going to the bathroom. With Taylor, she seemed to have digestive problems, so we learned to scrunch her legs up to help her out. We've continued to do this with the other kids. It really works, but sometimes getting all that gas and stuff out can be upsetting to them (of course until after it comes out and then it's relieving). I was helping Declan out the other day and had to suction out his nose as well. He was soooooo upset. The cute thing was he stuck out his bottom lip, it started quivering, and then he started doing a sad cry. Shelby was kind enough to get a picture of the pouty lip for me. I love it!!!

That is such a cute pouty lip! And what great advice about scrunching up their legs. Owen grunts a lot!!! I don't remember Eric ever being that noisy! Owen seems to be a little more fussy and he is throwing everything up at least once every other day. He dosn't burp well at all. I feel like I have to beat him to get anything out.

Anyways, Declan is definitely an Orme. He looks so much like y'all I love it! I'm so glad you finally have a boy! He's adorable!

Poor little Declan. That really is a cute little face with the pouty lip though!

Luckily we've only had to the the scrunching leg thing a couple times on each kid when they are small. I think it's because I produce skim milk and it just passes right through them:) YOU on the other hand...good grief! What I would do to produce a chubby baby from nursing like you do Rachel!
