I was surprised because I had driven by it a lot and never noticed it. There's building with a parking lot and right next to it is a grassy field followed by a line of trees. Well inside those trees is this beautiful, and extremely cold, creek.
Madison told the girls to look for a really cool rock to take home, and of course they were eager to find one.
While we searched for rocks, Tom and Declan played around on the shore.
Shelby eventually found one unique enough to keep. It was a dark gray with 2 white stripes running around it. She was really excited to show Tom her find.
Payden and Taylor decided on just normal brown rocks. Since Declan seemed to want to join us, Tom passed him to me and I dipped him in.
Meanwhile Taylor, my more daring one, realized how fun it was to splash through the water.
As for Declan, initially, it was really really cold for him. He kept breathing in these quick deep gasps. Since my back was killing me, I took him to the side to hold him.
Since he couldn't get enough of the water, I finally sat him down in it. It was cold, but he loved it. He splashed and splashed.
It was a needed break, and we enjoyed it. We all came home wetter and a bit colder, but more relaxed. The kids can't wait to go back again.

It seems wonderful to be able to go outside and enjoy so many beautiful places! It makes me want to go back to Utah just to explore everywhere without the heat and humidity.
What a beautiful area! Looks like you guys really enjoyed yourselves. I bet you're all really enjoying getting out more now that you don't have such extreme heat to deal with.
